ABOUT
As a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, Thomas values the importance of composition, arrangement and performance in making a successful recording. His music production work with artists such as Knightstown (FatCat Records / Sony EMI / BMG), One Hope Project, Ewan J Phillips and Maximilian has achieved international television syncs, national radio plays (BBC Radio 1 - Annie Mac, BBC Radio 6 Music - Lauren Laverne, Premier Christian Radio, UCB Radio), regional radio plays (BBC Bristol, BBC Hereford & Worcester), multiple iTunes number ones, significant playlist features and over a million streams on Spotify.
With a keen eye for effective visuals, Thomas is also an accomplished video editor. Working with Stagecast Ltd, he has edited full length broadcast programmes and promotional content for the London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonia, The Sixteen, Grange Park Opera, Monteverdi Choir & Orchestras and more. His editing work reaches a large international audience via broadcast television and streaming platforms around the world.
Thomas previously enjoyed a year at multi BAFTA award-winning post-production house Aquarium Studios in Soho, where he had the opportunity to work on television, film and video-game audio for clients including the BBC and EA Sports. This experience has enabled him to provide professional post-production work as a sound designer/editor and ADR/Voiceover recordist/mixer, which he has done for adverts and short-films.
Thomas Aston graduated from the Tonmeister course at the University of Surrey in 2015 with First-Class Honours. He was awarded both the 'AMS-Neve Portfolio Prize' for the most outstanding final-year portfolio of music recordings and the 'Focusrite Prize for Technical Achievement' for the most outstanding dissertation. He is currently based in London.
